With few holes over 320 yards, the La Marquesa golf course is well-suited for high-handicappers. (Courtesy) |
I played La Marquesa Golf Club in Alicante, Spain, on May 15, 2007, and the course was in good condition. It is a course that suits a higher handicap golfer, as it is not long. A lower handicap golfer doesn't need a driver in his bag, as the course has a number of holes that are no longer than 320 yards. The greens were in good condition, and the fairways were lush, giving the golfer a good lie. It was noted that after about 2 p.m. the course was taken up by those learning the game, which tends to lead to a longer than normal round of golf.

"My wife and I have played lots of courses throughout Ireland and have played this beautiful course about 4 or 5 times now, and we both agree that it is one of the best golf courses in Ireland," GolfEurope.com reader Don Kirkaldy reports.
