I played Hickleton Golf Club in Doncaster at the end of last year and had a wonderful day. The golf course is challenging, without being stupidly so. The course rises and falls like a roller-coaster and is a test of fitness as well as golfing ability.
There are no two holes alike and the final six holes encompass everything that is great about the course, from blasting away on an elevated tee, to tight greens framed by mature trees. I'm playing it again with three pals, and am looking forward to enjoying it all over again. Great off-course facilities, too, with an excellent clubhouse.
