ST. ETIENNE, France - Located about an hour's drive outside of Lyon, the Golf Club at St. Etienne is a city-owned golf course that was built on the site of a former landfill. The golf course sits on very severe terrain, and many fairways are built into steep hillsides. It's mostly a club that gets a lot of local play, as Saint Etienne is not a very large tourist hotbed.
Located just up the street from the clubhouse, the Hotel du Golf is a partnering property that offers comfortable accommodations and stylish furnishings. It's a popular spot for locals to have weddings or special events, or those here for a leisurely long weekend.
Facilities at the Golf Club at St. Etienne include a full service pro shop and restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch suitable for both golfers and non-golfers. There is also a large practice facility and driving range that make the club very welcoming to beginning golfers and juniors, including a short course.
