Golf du Gouverneur is a 45-hole golf resort located about a half hour's drive outside the city center of Lyon, the capital city of the Rhone-Alps region in southeastern France. The club is home to a European Challenge Tour event and offers three separate courses of varying difficulty. The courses all play on 230 acres of gently rolling hillsides in the French countryside of Dombes where there is an especially high amount of bird life, as the area is popular for bird watching.
Golf du Gouverneur's Breuil course is the longest of the courses at over 6,400 meters and hosts the European Challenge Tour event, while the Montaplan is slightly shorter but still features long par 4s and par 5s and a length of 5,880 meters. Golf du Gouverneur features full resort and club facilities including numerous putting and chipping greens, restaurant as well as an unusual flooded driving range.
There is a Best Western brand hotel on site, but if you'd like more access to the city center of Lyon, considered France's culinary capital and very easy to explore on foot, stay in the Cour de Loges Hotel, a luxury hotel located in the heart of the city's old town.
