Correncon en Vercors Golf Club in France

Located in the French Alps about an hour from Grenoble, Correncons en Vercors Golf Club is a mountain course opened in 1989. The village decided to build the golf course in hopes of attracting summer tourism to this more popular ski town, and the course has been a success in the first 20 years. It's on the short side, playing under 6,000 meters from the championship tees, but defends itself with tight fairways, sharp doglegs and some holes that play sharply uphill, like the No. 1 handicap hole, No. 10.

Practically every hole has scenic mountain views, and each hole is lined tightly by trees. There is no real estate or development surrounding the course, though it does share land with hiking and horseback riding trails. The course is just a quick walk from the Hotel du Golf, a three-star property that is also home to a Michelin-rated restaurant.
