Great course, local knowledage would be helpful
Played this course in the first group out and we made a point to make sure the group behind us never saw us again after the first tee. Lots of dramatic elevation changes and doglegs. Would definitely play many of the holes differently after playing here for the first time. Lots of awesome views though. Would play here again on a future visit, probably trying out the Europe and Asia courses as well.
La Cala America
Fantastic scenery from every tee. Challenging holes. Long holes too. Tee Boxes are average conditions, Fairways in good conditions, greens in good conditions.
Would recommend highly to anyone from a mid (18)to low handicap considering the high slope index.
You need to have your game on...on the day!

Spectacular tee shots
I stayed at La Cala and played the America and Asia courses. America is the best and offers some spectacular tee shots (particularly the opening drive on hole 1). Asia is much narrower and shorter but still enjoyable. Greens are in reasonable shape albeit fairly slow and bunker sand could do with topping up. Staff are fairly clueless and there seems an endless stream of paperwork if you are hiring clubs / buggy. All in an enjoyable experience, but not as good as some of the Med golfing options in places like the Algarve.
