Whilst the Golf Club itself was only founded in 1922, the clubhouse and grounds are steeped in history. The present Woodsome Hall has evolved over many centuries and is mainly the work of Arthur Kaye, who in 1517 married Beatrix and took his bride to the new Woodsome Hall. Earlier recorded owners / dwellers do however go back to 1086 A.D.
