One of the leading links courses in the South West of England, a full 18 hole, 6208 yard, par 70 course, first established at the end of the last century. Weston-super-Mare is an attractive links course set on the edge of the Bristol Channel, with superb views of Weston in the sweeping curve of its bay, out across the sea to the Welsh coast and the hills beyond. As a links course the sea breeze will always be a factor, but the course designed in 1922 by Dr.Alastair Mackenzie, has much to offer golfers of all standards. Nestling behind the sand dunes, the first five holes stretches along the beach to the farthest point of the course, before the sixth turns and heads back towards the clubhouse. After the tenth hole, the course turns again, but the holes on the second part of the course are slightly different in character, being less dominated by the beach. The low handicapped golfer, determined to prove him or herself, will find several holes deceptively testing, certainly not as easy as they might appear at first sight.
