West Sussex Golf Club, also known as Pulborough, is known for being one of the most scenic golf courses in England.

Designed by two outstanding golf architects, Guy Campbell and Cecil Hutchinson, the course was completed in 1930 although not officially opened until 25 April 1931.

It has many other defining characteristics as well, including the sandy, draining soil that allows it to be a nearly year-round course. Heavy downpours of rain that would close other courses for the entire day would only pause play for an hour or two at West Sussex. The landscape of rolling hills is blanketed with fir and silver birch trees. The classic design of the course is both challenging and playable, which is why the course is a popular venue for major men's tournaments. The 10th through 14th are the most visually stunning stretch of holes on the course. West Sussex Golf Club's 13th hole is also known as the toughest due to its "through the air" approach to a tightly bunkered green.

Sir Peter Allen in his book 'Play the Best Courses' rates two holes at West Sussex , the sixth and 13th as the best inland holes in the British Isles.
