The Mount

Over all good value for money course was in good condition for winter golf.
The green were great the ones in play on our day 4 temps again good for winter golf.
The only issue was the winter greens ranged from 30 yards short too 130 yards short not an issue if you are a member as you would know where they are BUT as a visitor I feel they should let you know the temp greens and how short they are from the main green

Do not play

Do not play this course. Currently on 18 temp greens as they say the preparing the greens for winter.
Course is very wet balls plugging and getting lost just off the fairway and leaves just not getting moved.
Full price paid and no discount
Dont play it.

Lovely place to play.

Course was in great condition, can't really fault it for the price. Greens, fairways all good. No complaints from me, enjoyed my round, though got a bit tired at the end. Definitely be back.

A good course

Enjoyed the round on a nice course. Only issue was a very slow 3 ball that caused a backlog, hence my lie rating for pace of play.

Course conditions are very poor

No advanced warning of course conditions prior to booking. Arrived at course and we were informed all 18 holes were on temporary greens. We expected some temporary greens due to recent weather conditions. However, once we got out on the course we very quickly realised that the course is not being maintained. The actual greens have been neglected, and the fairways had not been cut. There was no differentiation between fairway and rough. Landing the ball in the fairway meant the ball was sat down in 6-10 inch of grass. We paid full price for the round, and didn’t enjoy the game of golf at all. We left the course after 14 holes because it was unplayable. We will not be returning to play here and I would not recommend visitors to book a round of golf at this course any time soon. Other courses in the area are in much better condition.

Speed it up…

The course is a nice course, lots of variation and in good condition. One thing that was unbearable was the pace of play. I don’t know if the club have a way to improve this or not but it took me 3 hours 15 mins to complete 13 holes. The group in front wouldn’t allow me to play through as there was a back log. After waiting on the 14th tee box for close to ten minutes I just walked off and drove home, missing 5 holes. Really disappointed to have spent £35 on this experience!

Lack of communication/none at all

Had a tee time booked for today at 11:16 for 3 people. We got to the course at 11 o’clock ready to play, went into the clubhouse to check in for our tee time and was told the course was closed. I had no email or phone call to say this was the case hence why I arrived there for a round. Really appalling that I had no conctact from the course to say it was closed today. Quite disgusted

Lovely course

A very well maintained course with enough hazards to keep you needing to hit those fairways.

Kington GC

Can only review front 9 as went in due to weather. Very hilly course especially front 9 would suggest a buggy for all but the fittest. Nice greens firm running greens nice pace and resemblance to a inland links. Rough is very penal if offline straight to heather/gorse. Would suggest to wait for an Open competition March to October.

Disappointing Days Golf!

The worst course I’ve played this year. (I’ve played 100+)
Tee boxes were like playing out of the rough!
Fairways were very poor, more like the first cut!
Bunkers looked ok but never went in one.
The greens were ok but no variety all were a much of a muchness.
Course scorecards looked like they had just been run off on a copier disintegrated half way round.
I’m a cat 1/2 golfer play 3 times a week minimum there are many better courses in the vicinity that are cheaper and much better value for money.
