Largs Golf Club is a mixed parkland / woodland course. Uniquely situated between Kelburn Castle and the shore, it has magnificent views of the Firth of Clyde with scenic views of the isles of Cumbrae, Bute and Arran. One can also appreciate the view of the peak of Arran's Goat Fell and the domineering landscape of the 'Sleeping Warrior'.

The current 18 hole course dates back to the decision, in 1953, of the Earl of Glasgow to allow the golf club to extend onto the parkland on the south side of the driveway leading to the castle. In the same year the club opened a new clubhouse. The club had previously played nine holes o the north side of the drive . In the 1980's the present Earl (honorary president) sold the course to the club. Prior to moving to Kelburn in 1893, the club existed for two years at Routenburn now incorporated as part of Routenburn Golf Club's 18 hole course, in the northern part of Largs. The Largs Golf Club's expansion saw irrigation being laid in 1962, major improvements to the course in the late 1960s, and the second phase of a new clubhouse in 1969. The clubhouse was refurbished in time for the 1991 centenary.

18-hole parkland course, situated in the west of Scotland on the Firth of Clyde. The Club has a well stocked proshop and an excellent clubhouse with lounge bar facilities.

Course Details

Course Name: Largs Holes: 18 Yardage: 5707 SSS: 69
The course is enduringly popular with visitors, who return year after year. While not playing form the yellow tees, it needs a lot of though and positional play usually pays dividends. Sam Torrance, who was a junior member in 1985, was made an honorary member in 1985. The course is unusual in that it is situated right on coast, it is definitely of an inland type with typical parkland features of lush fairways, winding burns and tree-lined doglegs.
From the yellow tees 5707 yards, par 68, SSS 69.
From the ladies tees 5450 yards, par73, SSS 73
