Lanhydrock Golf Club is an eighteen hole parkland course nestling in a mature wooded valley in the heart of Cornwall with a splendid clubhouse where the warmest of welcomes awaits you. It would be foolhardy to underestimate the challenge of this comparatively short course where one can be lulled into a false sense of security by the gently undulating countryside until you are caught out by one of the distinctive Lanhydrock bunkers or intimidated by a lengthy drive over water. It is a very strategic golf course where poor shots will rarely result in total disaster, but where intelligent strokes will be fully rewarded, and where the local rule is TO ENJOY.

Awkward stances, the occasional blind shot and sea winds, which can wreak havoc with your long game, may all be part of your expectation of golf in the West Country. Baffled and buffeted you may have been on coast and moorland - time then to be bewitched by Lanhydrock. Play at Lanhydrock can commence from the 1st or 10th tees (both are beside the magnificent clubhouse) but the best place to begin your visit is at the 19th hole. Stand on the clubhouse veranda and drink in the view. Rolling hills and patchwork fields fill the horizon. Stretching out below, amidst a beautiful wooded valley is the golf course; lush undulating fairways, splashes of dazzling white sand and slick, subtly contoured greens framed sometimes by bunkers, sometimes by hazards and nearly always by a splendid mix of trees. Features holes of the Hamilton Stutt designed course are glorious 6th - hole occupies its own almost hidden corner at Lanhydrock, the picturesque short 11th which has developed a reputation for being something of a BEAST OF BODMIN and the 12th enveloped by Tregullan Moor surrounded by a mass of gnarled, wizened old trees and prickly gorse, demanding accuracy on the fairways only 20 yards wide in party.
