Hassocks Golf Club is a pay and play golf course, available to all, from the seasoned golfer to the complete beginner. The 18 hole course is situated on mature parkland in Sussex Weald in the shadow of the south downs, just five minutes from Brighton. The clubhouse has a bar, restaurant and a spike bar, and there are extensive practice facilities within the complex, such as putting/chipping areas.
The course is designed to test golfers of all abilities, whether experienced or novice, due to the strategic placement of the many water and sand hazards. It is set in the parkland of the picturesque Sussex Weald and is 'easy on the feet' because of its relatively flat nature.

I suppose can’t complain to much
But 3/4 of the holes are blind e.g can’t see the pin.
Now this is ok a few times.
But not on most of the holes.
Very bland
Boring lay out.
But like I said at the beginning
£10 can’t complain to much.
Good for beginners or complete hackers.
Hassocks golf course
Nice course very dry greens had been spiked recently hard to putt a straight line
Unspectacular course
Probably the main reason to play here is the cost. Nowhere is cheaper but, truth be told, it is not a great course. Some decent holes but can be a bit samey. Greens not in great shape today and overall (eg tee boxes) it’s looking a little shabby
Friendly conditions and staff
Our group of three played this course in the middle of one of the hottest days for years and after a two month drought. Yet the course is in very good shape. When damp it can get a bit boggy but when dry it rewards straight hitting and good course management
Tee times aren’t tee times!
Horrendously slow pace! Gave up on 3rd hole. No way there is a 10 minute gap between each tee time. The sign walking up to 1st tee stated that the first 9 holes should take under 2 hours and there is no way that would have happened. Awful experience! Best part of trip was walk back to clubhouse waiting 15 mins for 4 ball to reach the 150 yard green off the tee. It’s unbelievable?!
Hassocks
What a beautiful day,the greens were beautiful but the fairways and in-between were boggy, such a shame but I guess you can’t expect much better when you build on clay.
Good Challenge
Good course in very good condition, there was a problem with the greens last time I played here but they were in tip top condition this time. Course is in very good condition all round, also the putting green which is just outside the clubhouse. Didn't use any of the clubhouse facilities so cannot comment. Very good value at £15 per round.
Challenging but fun and well prepared course
This was the first time that my playing partner and I had played this course. We were a two ball playing on a Friday morning. Course was quiet so no pressure on time. The holes are good fun, though the hole maps at each tee were not in great condition so it was often hard to work out where you could aim. I reckon I would easily be 5 shots better off second time round through course knowledge. The course has a challenging start (SI3 and SI1 in the first three holes). All tees, fairways and greens were in very good condition. The clover in the rough punishes inaccuracy off the tee! I would definitely play here again.
Good course
This was the first time we played this course. I do not play regularly and found it very interesting. My only minor criticism is that there are no directions to the next tee and some tees did not have the number on them. Not enough to stop me booking again next week!
Green greens
Best condition greens i have played on for,a while, bunkers were flooded but there had been quite a storm after election.
others
Having played the course a number of times it was in very nice condition, BUT had a pair of young lads behind that had no course manners 3 times yes 3 times I had their drive or second shot land close and on one occasions, one of them hit a shot over a very thick and high dividing area of wood/scrubs and did not say a word. Made me speed up which I did not like, but nothing to do with the course or staff.
