Course Details
Course Name: Course 1 Holes: 18 Yardage: 5496 SSS: 67 |
The course is laid out over fell land to the east of Cockermouth and is easily accessible from the A66 cross Pennine road. At 5496 yards the course is not regarded as easy. Nevertheless it provides a stern test for the discerning golfer, particularly when the prevailing south westerly wind blows. One positive feature of the course is the panoramic views it offers. Looking back from the fifth tee, one can see Bassenthwaite Lake with the well known Skiddarn Fell in the background. Walking down the tenth fairway, one can look over Cockermouth town to the Solway Firth and beyond to the Dumfries and Galloway coast. From the same fairway and on a clear day it is possible to see the Isle of Man. press here for Cockermouth Golf Club course reviews |
